JAKARTA - Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) Ministry of Industry Setia Diarta said the automotive exhibition initiated by Gaikindo was a means of literacy for environmentally friendly vehicles to support government programs to reduce carbon gas emissions.

"The 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) automotive exhibition in Makassar is an important event for the national automotive industry to provide literacy to consumers," Setia said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 5.

He said the national and international production automotive exhibition had a significant contribution to efforts to strengthen the energy transition ecosystem to environmentally friendly vehicles in Eastern Indonesia (KTI).

He said the implementation of GIIAS in Makassar was proof of the strategic role of Makassar City as the gateway for the economy at KTI, so that it was able to become a magnet for national and international activities.

Menurut dia, GIIAS mendukung industri otomotif nasional dalam beradaptasi dengan perkembangan teknologi dan tuntutan global terhadap lingkungan.

Hal itu terbukti pada pelaksanaan pameran kali ini sejumlah peserta menampilkan kendaraan listrik roda empat yang berbasis baterai dan produknya beremisi rendah.
