Siloam Targets Vaccines Of 1 Million People Per Day, Child Conglomerate Mochtar Riady: Lippo Malls Are Also Vaccination Points

JAKARTA - PT Siloam Internasional Tbk is committed to supporting the mutual cooperation vaccination program. This aims to suppress and break the chain of spread of COVID-19 in the country.

The CEO of PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk, John Riady, is targeting to inject as many as 1 million people per day.

"We want to achieve the government's program of 1 million people per day," he said in a virtual press conference, Wednesday, May 19.

According to the son of the Mochtar Riady conglomerate, this target could be achieved if more hospitals were involved.

"Our hope is that Siloam will support the Kadin program not only here but in our malls. But I would like to add that Siloam alone is not enough. We also need cooperation from all hospitals throughout Indonesia," he explained.

John said that his party is happy to be able to participate in helping government programs, especially related to COVID-19. Currently there are five hospitals that are allocated specifically for positive patients.

Of the five hospitals, Siloam can accommodate 1,600 patients. This is in line with the allocation of 40 percent of patient beds for COVID-19 patients.

Furthermore, John said that for independent vaccination or mutual cooperation, his party has prepared places that can be visited by the community. Not only hospitals but also shopping centers under the auspices of Lippo.

"We have provided approximately 62 vaccination centers. About half are in Siloam hospitals and the others are in our malls," he said.

On the same occasion, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rosan Perkasa Roeslani emphasized that the cooperation between Kadin Indonesia and the Siloam Group is not only at the mutual cooperation vaccination center located at Spark Mal, but will continue.

"Our cooperation is not only here, we will continue to improve it. Because this is the right collaboration. Because the Siloam Group is not only a hospital but also a mall," said Rosan.
