DGT Reveals SPT 2025 Reporting Is Estimated To Only Reach 14 Million

The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) projects that the number of Annual Notifications (SPT) for the 2025 Tax Year which will be reported in 2026 is estimated at around 14.4 million SPT. This number has decreased when compared to the realization of SPT reporting for the 2024 Tax Year which reached 16.52 million SPT.

Director of Counseling, Services and Public Relations of the Ministry of Finance Rosmauli explained that of the total estimated, around 13.4 million SPT came from individual taxpayers, while the remaining 1 million came from corporate taxpayers.

He added that of the individual taxpayer group around 11.2 million were employees, and the other 2.2 million were non-employees.

Rosmauli also said that the taxpayer's population with income below the Non-Taxable Income (PTKP) threshold, which is below IDR 54 million per year, is likely to increase.

"This is just an estimate, yes, just an estimate with these considerations the possibility that employees under PTKP increase, then (MSMEs with turnover) below 4.8 may be reduced, then taxpayers who are NE (Non-Effective) are likely to increase," he explained in Media Briefing at the DGT, Monday, October 20.

For this reason, Rosmauli added that these considerations are DGT's steps in preparing a number of anticipatory steps, including education and socialization related to SPT reporting ahead of 2026.

"So this is only an estimate that we determine the numbers, because even taxpayers are required to have an SPT that has not been determined. This is just an anticipation of approximately how many will report the SPT later, because for the first time using the gritax, of course, we must determine how many steps to anticipate how many taxpayers will report later," he said.

Rosmauli emphasized that this figure is not final, but is just an early picture to help DGT design system and infrastructure readiness, especially in the face of a transition to the beliax system in the 2025 Tax Year SPT reporting in 2026.
