JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) ensures that the supply of broiler is safe and sufficient ahead of Christmas and New Year's 2025/2026 by maintaining price stability and smooth distribution throughout Indonesia.
Director General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health of the Ministry of Agriculture Agung Suganda in a statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 16, said that national broil production showed a positive trend with a stable increase over the last few months towards the end of the year.
He said that based on the October 2025 prognosis, the production of broiler broilers is estimated to reach 372,867 tons with community needs of 325,641 tons.
"This means that we have a production surplus of around 47,226 tons, which shows the performance of national livestock is very good," said Agung.
Agung explained that the surplus achievement is a strong indicator of the growth of Indonesia's poultry sector which is increasingly efficient, productive, and is able to adapt to market dynamics and national needs.
According to him, the success of maintaining the availability of broiler chickens cannot be separated from the close collaboration between the government, business actors, and breeders in strengthening the national food production and distribution system.
The Ministry of Agriculture, continued Agung, together with the National Food Agency (Bapanas) and poultry business actors strengthen cross-sectoral synergies in maintaining price stability and the availability of broiler broilers throughout Indonesia, while ensuring that supply chains run smoothly towards the end of the year.
The Ministry of Agriculture also continues to ensure that supply chain supervision is carried out intensively so that distribution from farmers to markets runs smoothly and prices remain stable at the consumer level.
He mentioned that based on data from the Market Monitoring System and Basic Needs (SP2KP) of the Ministry of Trade, national broil prices until the second week of October 2025 were still monitored to be stable and under control.
The average price of broiler chickens was recorded at IDR 38,743 per kilogram, still below the Government Reference Price of IDR 40,000 per kilogram, indicating the supply and distribution of national chickens went very well.
"This condition shows that the supply in the market is running well and the distribution from producers to consumers is relatively smooth," he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy I for Food Stabilization and Availability of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) I Ketut Gusti Astawa supports the coordinative steps that have been taken by all parties, including the Ministry of Agriculture, in maintaining the supply of broiler chickens.
The results of Bapanas monitoring show that the price of broiler chickens in most provinces remains in stable and affordable condition. This indicates that the national food distribution system is getting more solid," said Ketut.

He added that close cooperation between the central government, regional and business actors is the key in maintaining national food stability.
The current cross-sector collaboration must continue to be strengthened so that prices and strategic food supplies such as broilers remain under control, added Ketut.
