Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) will build a pedestrian bridge (JPO) to connect the Shangri-La Hotel with BNI City Station, Central Jakarta.
The JPO development plan is part of strengthening the integration of public transportation in the Dukuh Atas area, especially access to BNI City Station which serves airport and KRL trains.
"The construction of the JPO will be the provincial government. Yesterday the Governor said that he would prepare a JPO from BNI to Shangri-La," said Dudy at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 1.
Previously, it was reported that the government plans to develop a public transportation integration area in Dukuh Atas. Later, in the area, four modes of public transportation will be integrated and the target is completed in 2027.
Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi revealed that in the Dukuh Atas area, four modes of public transportation will be integrated, namely Integrated Moda Raya (MRT), Integrated Highways (LRT), Electric Rail Trains (KRL) and airport trains.
"The Dukuh Atas TOD will later integrate four train-based modes of transportation, thus providing more comfort to the community," he said in a media briefing, in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 30.
Dudy said DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung hopes that the development of a public transportation integration area in the Dukuh Atas area can be completed by 2027.
"We as regulators support what is the plan of the DKI Provincial Government so that this can be realized soon," he said.
On the other hand, Dudy also ensured that Karet Station would not be closed. The plan, said Dudy, will later be connected to BNI City Station.
"We conveyed this after we had several conversations with KAI, and also at that time I remember Mr. Erick when he was Minister of SOEs, Karet would not be closed, but would be connected to BNI City station," he said.
Currently, said Dudy, there is indeed a corridor to connect Karet Station with BNI City Station. However, it is still necessary to build a canopy so that users are more comfortable. Therefore, he asked PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI to build.
The canopy has been built on the south side, the southern side has been built by the canopy, it connects from Karet to BNI City. So yesterday I asked that the north one also be built, so users don't need to cross the track in a field," he explained.
Dudy also said that ticket machine facilities were available to tap in and tap out on the south side. In the future, he continued, the train will stop at Sudirman Station, and users who enter through Karet can still take the train through BNI City Station or Sudirman.
"If there are tickets and all kinds of things available on the south side, so later the train will stop at Sudirman, but friends who usually ride, enter from Karet can easily access it, so we don't close, we can enter from Karet," he said.

In addition, Dudy said, to facilitate user mobilization, there will be a crossing facility in front of the Shangri-La Hotel so that users do not need to rotate too far to cross.
"(There will be) a crossing, yes, it's in front of Shangri-La, from the south side crossing the river to the front of Shangri-La. So that if anyone works around there there, there is no need to cross, rotate too far," he said.
