JAKARTA - The government emphasizes that the implementation of the core tax administration system (Coretax) continues according to the set schedule.

Deputy Minister of Finance Anggito Abimanyu said that the application of the beliax aims to increase tax compliance and create transparency in the national tax administration system.

"With the beliax, compliance will increase, certainty in terms of payment, in terms of obligations, in terms of taxpayer rights, it is more transparent and easier to detect," he told the media crew, quoted on Sunday, September 21.

He added that the implementation of the quintex for VAT has so far been going quite well, although there have been several technical problems that have emerged, such as invoice problems, data completeness, and system traffic load, have been successfully overcome.

"PPh has a higher complexity, right. Now it's more in VAT and it's generally smooth, yes. Invoice problems, data problems, traffic problems, that's okay," he said.

Meanwhile, after successfully applying the Value Added Tax (VAT), the beliax system is planned to start being used for the management of Income Tax (PPh) next year.

However, he said that bigger challenges are expected to arise in 2026, when this system is implemented for Private People's Income Tax (OP) and Business Entities, because PPh management is much more complicated, compared to VAT

"Next year, we will enter data regarding PPh OP and corporate income tax," he said

He hopes that with careful preparation, the application of beliax for PPh can run smoothly without technical obstacles as had happened before.

"Hopefully there won't be any problems," he said.

On the other hand, he said that the Government is also developing a strategy to increase tax revenue in the coming year, one of which is the step taken is to continue to monitor the development of the realization of current tax revenues.

Anggito also emphasized that Indonesia still has the opportunity to increase tax compliance through administrative strengthening.

In addition, he said that the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) also runs a collaborative program or joint program with a number of ministries/agencies, including cooperation with international financial institutions.

"We still have room for improvement, yes. In terms of compliance, administration, we have a joint program. We have several strategies to extensify without having to burden taxpayers," he concluded.
