KKP Arrest 167 Fishing Vessels Until August 31, 2025

A total of 167 fishing vessels in Indonesian waters were arrested and 97 illegal clumps were secured.

From the results of this action, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) saved state losses of Rp2.12 trillion.

The Directorate General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervisory (PSDKP) of the KKP assesses that illegal fishing is not just a theft of fish, but an activity that can threaten the sustainability of the Indonesian marine ecosystem.

Not only that, illegal fishing also has an impact on state losses.

"This practice also threatens the livelihoods of local fishermen and the future of our children and grandchildren," explained PSDKP quoted from its official Instagram @ditjenpsdkp, Wednesday, September 17.

From January to August 31, 2025, the Directorate General of PSDKP has arrested 167 illegal fishing vessels.

In detail, there are 148 fishing vessels from Indonesia and 19 foreign fishing vessels.

Not only that, as many as 97 illegal clumps have been secured and 74 clumps have been identified. A total of 1,299 ships were monitored in the KKP command center.

Adapun sebanyak 7 wilayah pengelolaan perikanan negara Republik Indonesia (WPPNRI) serta 25 objek kelautan dan wilayah konservasi terus diawasi PSDKP.

Dari hasil operasi kapal pengawas, setidaknya nilai kerugian Rp2,12 triliun berhasil diselamatkan.

"Total valuasi kerugian negara yang telah diselamatkan dari hasil operasi kapal pengawas sepanjang 2025 sebesar Rp2,12 triliun," terangnya.

As many as 7 regions of state fisheries management of the Republic of Indonesia (WPPNRI) and 25 marine objects and conservation areas continue to be supervised by PSDKP.

From the results of the supervisory ship operation, at least the value of the loss of Rp2.12 trillion was saved.

"The total valuation of state losses that have been saved from the results of supervisory ship operations throughout 2025 is IDR 2.12 trillion," he explained.
