JAKARTA - The government will disburse State Capital Participation (PMN) worth IDR 4.77 trillion for three SOEs this year. This PMN is given in order to improve services to the community.
SOE Minister Erick Thohir revealed that this PMN was given to PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI, PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) or PELNI and PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero) or INKA.
The details, continued Erick, KAI received Rp1.8 trillion, PELNI Rp2.5 trillion, and INKA Rp473 billion.
"So of course with this PMN, there will be improvements in services to the community," said Erick in a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Monday, September 15.
Erick explained that PMN Rp1.8 trillion for KAI was allocated to the Jabodetabek KRL procurement. Then, PMN worth Rp2.5 trillion was given to PELNI to buy three passenger ships with the PMN.
"Of course this is part of improving services for PELNI, as well as increasing issues rather than suppressing the rate of accidents that we may have to suppress, because this is part of maximum public service," he explained.
Meanwhile, continued Erick, PMN Rp473 billion to PT INKA will be allocated for the construction of factory facilities for the production of the Jabodetabek KRL train (trainset).
"If in Madiun (INKA factory) itself is out of date, of course this competitiveness is needed, especially the market share for middle class carriages, so those that are not high class like high-speed trains, there are still a lot of demand, not only domestically," he explained.
According to Erick, PMN is given to the three SOEs as part of the government's assignment. Therefore, the coordination is still under the Ministry of Finance, then given through the Ministry of SOEs.
Furthermore, Erick said state capital for SOE operations or for investment, is now under the coordination of BPI Danantara.

"For operations, needs, and investments, it has been from the Danantara. But if PMN is assigned, it could be from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of SOEs, which is consolidated with Danantara," he said.
Erick said the PMN proposal had also been approved by the Ministry of Finance. This includes Commission VI of the DPR RI has approved this proposal.
"We have submitted a letter to BPI Danantara regarding the follow-up to the additional proposal for PMN after the stipulation of Law number 1 of 2025, and based on a correspondence with the Ministry of Finance, so the basis is already there from the Ministry of Finance," said Erick.
