The Government Wants To Overcome Desil V Poverty With The Red And White Kopdes

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives (Kemenkop) together with across Ministries and Institutions (K/L) under the coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment is determined to make various breakthroughs and programs to accelerate poverty all over Indonesia, especially for Desil V community groups.

Deputy Minister of Cooperatives (Wamenkop) as well as Coordinator of the Daily Executive of the Red and White Village Cooperatives Task Force (Kopdes/Kel) Ferry Juliantono stated that the poor who fall into the Desil V category are very vulnerable groups to fall into Desil below him. Therefore, joint and structural efforts are needed to save this group so that the poverty rate does not get worse.

On the other hand, the government will also optimize various advanced programs and stimulus for the poor who are included in the Desil group 1-4 where the programs that will be carried out simultaneously are adjusted to the severity of poverty based on their respective categories.

"Our programs in each Ministry and Institution will be directed to be more targeted, more appropriate, so we need to validize the database. We agree to provide improvement in support for BPS (Central Statistics Agency) for correcting precision data (related to poverty data) so that in the future it can be used as a better decision-making database," said Ferry, quoted Wednesday, September 3.

He explained that later the data related to the poverty rate owned and developed by each K/L will be synchronized with the National Sole Social Economic Data (DTSEN) managed by BPS. Through the unification of the data, the government hopes that the direction of village economic development can be accelerated and the policies taken are more effective.

"One of the most important is the need for a precise or accurate village database to assist BPS in the development of DTSEN so that it can be more perfect so we have to consolidate better data," continued Ferry.

He explained that the efforts to unify and uniform the poverty database will be the main reference in the implementation of the poverty alleviation program, which has so far been dominated in villages. This effort is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's direction in instructing him to accelerate the eradication of extreme poverty in villages through Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 8 of 2025.

At the Kemenkop itself, he continued, one of the efforts that will be optimized to accelerate poverty alleviation in the village for all levels is through the Red and White Kopdes/Kel. Ferry believes Kopdes' operations will be a very strategic instrument in an effort to achieve the poverty reduction target.

Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih can have a real social impact such as reducing poverty, breaking the long distribution chain, and others," added Ferry.
