Jakarta Surrounded By Demo Action, BNI Temporarily Closes 4 Branch Offices

JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI decided to temporarily close the operations of four Sub-Branch Offices (KCP) in the Jakarta area today. This closure is a response to demonstrations that occurred at several points.

The four affected branch offices are KCP Kwitang, KCP Pasar Senen Jaya, KCP Senen, and KCP Gatot Subroto Army Hospital. Everything is under the auspices of the Regional Office of 15 BNI.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said the decision was taken as a form of caution, as well as the company's efforts to maintain the safety and comfort of customers and employees.

"Operational four KCP outlets, namely KCP Kwitang, KCP Pasar Senen Jaya, KCP Senen, and KCP Gatot Subroto Army Hospital are temporarily closed on August 29, 2025. We apologize for the inconvenience that occurred," Okki said in an official statement, Friday, August 29.

According to Okki, the closure is temporary. He also ensured that reopening would be carried out after the situation was declared safe according to the direction of the authorities.

"We have also reported this step and coordinated it with the OJK," said Okki.

Furthermore, Okki said, BNI ensures that all customers can still access banking services through the nearest parent branch office, ATM network, and BNI digital services that continue to operate normally.

"BNI always monitors the development of the situation carefully and is committed to maintaining the sustainability of banking services and providing the best protection for customers. We thank you for the understanding and trust of customers," concluded Okki.

This action follows the incident of an ojol driver who died as a result of being run over by a Brimob rantis car during an action at the DPR RI Building last night.

In addition to the unity of ojol, the All-Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) also held a demonstration today. The demonstration will start from the FX Sudirman area, Central Jakarta.

Then, the masses will do a long march. The end point of the long march will be at the Polda Metro Jaya (PMJ) building.
