Amer Sports Fights For Ownership Of The Arc TERyx Brand In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The continuation of the existence of the unofficial Arc TERyx shop in Indonesia, Amer Sports Canada Inc., the rightful owner of the Arc TERyx brand, attended the inaugural trial of the lawsuit against a Chinese company that illegally registered the Arc TERyx brand in Indonesia.

Arc TERyx is a sports equipment and outdoor brand produced by Arc'teryx Equipment, a division of Amer Sports Canada Inc. Arc TERyx brand itself was first registered in Canada in 1992. Arc teryx never gave distribution authorization, nor provided warranty for the products sold in shops operating in Bali and Jakarta.

Present at the inaugural hearing at the Central Jakarta Commercial Court, Tuesday, August 12, representative of Arc'teryx from Canada, Cameron Clark, as Head of Legal Arc'teryx Equipment. This presence is a form of the company's seriousness in fighting for ownership of the Arc'teryx brand in Indonesia.

"We appreciate that the official trial process has started today. Our main goal is to cancel the illegal registration of the Arc TERyx brand by a Chinese company and hope to get a positive decision that will pave the way for Amer Sports to enter the Indonesian market with official products that meet our high standards," said Cameron Clark.

Cameron added that this legal effort is not only aimed at protecting the intellectual property rights of Amer Sports, but is also an important step to protect consumers in Indonesia from the potential circulation of unofficial products.

From an economic perspective, this case has also attracted the attention of market and economic observers.
