There Are Still 10,068 Points In Indonesia That Have Not Been Accessed By Electricity

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) reports that there are still 10,068 points in Indonesia that have not provided access to electricity.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia said the 10,068 points came from 5,700 villages/kelurahan and 4,400 hamlets.

"The total is approximately 10,068 points that we have to power," Bahlil said as quoted on Tuesday, August 12.

According to Bahlil, he has reported to President Prabowo Subianto and has held a meeting with Finance Minister Sri Mulyani regarding the funds needed to electrify all the village villages.

Thus, he said, all villages/kelurahan could be electrified in the first period of monitoring of Prabowo Subianto.

"I have reported to the President, I have held a meeting with the Minister of Finance, so that this is during the first period of the President, we will try for all of us to electrify, and the funds have also been pursued by the Minister of Finance," Bahlil explained.

Dirinya tidak ingin, pengalamannya yang hidup tanpa listrik sejak lahir, hingga mengenyam pendidikan di bangku SMP dialami oleh generasi masa kini.

"Saya tidak ingin lagi, apa yang saya rasakan di zaman kecil, terjadi pada generasi-generasi berikutnya. Saya enggak mau. Karena itu ini salah satu program, yang akan kami lakukan, akan push apa pun yang terjadi. Makanya saya keliling kampung. Jadi ESDM ini tidak hanya mengurus yang gede-gede, yang kecil-kecil juga kita urus," tandas Bahlil.

He did not want his experience of living without electricity since birth, until he received education in junior high school experienced by today's generation.

"I don't want it anymore, what I felt in my childhood, happened in the next generations. I don't want it. That's why this is one of the programs, what we will do, will push whatever happens. So I travel the village. So this ESDM doesn't just take care of the big ones, we also take care of the small ones," said Bahlil.
