JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto's flagship program, namely Free Nutrition Food (MBG) until the first semester of 2025, has spent a budget of IDR 5 trillion. The amount of the budget is channeled through 1,863 MBG kitchens, also known as the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).

"Until the first semester of 2025, the allocation for MBG has been realized in the amount of IDR 5 trillion which is distributed through 1,863 SPPG/public kitchens," wrote Sri Mulyani's statement on her official Instagram account @smindrawati, quoted on Saturday, August 9.

The realization is still far from what is expected. As is known, Prabowo targets that this year there will be 30,000 SPPGs and 82.9 million beneficiaries including 15.5 million school children and 2.4 million pregnant women.

"The target of MBG beneficiaries has also been increased from 17.9 million people to 82.9 million people through 30,000 public kitchens," he said.

According to him, nutritious food is important to improve health, support education, empower pregnant and lactating women, eradicate malnutrition and stunting and contribute to creating jobs.

"This priority that we will continue to carry in 2026 for the future of Indonesian children is healthier and stronger," he concluded.

Meanwhile, President Prabowo Subianto targets the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program to reach 20 million beneficiaries by mid-August 2025.

Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana said the target was accelerated from the initial plan set, reaching 20 million beneficiaries by the end of August.

"The President wants us to be able to serve 20 million by mid-August, even though the target was 20 million by the end of August. However, the President always wants to be faster. So, we are working hard," Dadan said at a press conference on the signing of the MoU Together with the Ministry of Public Works in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 5.

On this occasion, Dadan also conveyed, until Tuesday, August 5, the total Gizi Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) was built to reach 3,233 from non-APBN.

He said the SPPG had served as many as 8.2 million beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, his party targets that this week the total beneficiaries could reach 12 million people.
