Efficiency Will Continue Next Year, Here Are 15 Budgets Cut By Sri Mulyani

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto's administration will continue its budget efficiency policy next year.

The detailed provisions regarding efficiency have been regulated in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 56 of 2025.

PMK 56/2025 which was signed by the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati on July 29, 2025 and valid on August 5, 2025, contains dozens of state expenditure items whose budget must be saved by each ministry or institution (K/L).

"That for an effective, efficient and targeted budget, it is necessary to take steps to implement the efficiency of state spending in the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget while still paying attention to budgeting priorities based on the President's direction," the regulation was quoted as saying in the section considering PMK 56/2025, Friday, August 8.

Article 3 PMK 46/2025 states, to implement the efficiency of the k/l budget, the finance minister determines the efficiency of each expenditure budget based on the budget efficiency policy set by the President.

The amount of the efficiency of the expenditure budget for each k/l is determined based on a certain percentage of the amount of expenditure per item per type of expenditure.

This type of expenditure includes spending on goods, capital expenditures and/or other types of expenditure according to the direction of the President.

"The Minister of Finance can adjust the shopping item as referred to in paragraph (4) based on the President's direction," explained the regulation in paragraph 5 of Article 3 of PMK 56/2025.

The budget efficiency process will later create a Budget Implementation List or DIPA of each ministry/institution consisting of two forms.

The first is in the form of effective and second ceilings in the form of budget ceilings that are blocked based on the results of budget efficiency.
