Dominated By Asian Countries, Singapore Becomes The Country With The Highest PMA Realization In The First Semester Of 2025

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM) reported that the top 5 countries with the realization of foreign investment (PMA) in the first semester were dominated by countries from the Asian continent.

Investment Minister/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani said the highest realization was occupied by Singapore with an investment of US$8.8 million, followed by Hong Kong RRT of US$4.6 billion.

The third position is occupied by China with an investment of USD 3.6 billion, then Malaysia amounted to USD 1.7 million and finally Japan with an investment of USD 1.6 million.

"Cumulatively, the figure is that Singapore is still dominating for a long time, especially since we see that the relationship between ASEAN countries is getting better and closer," said Rosan in a presentation on the performance of BKPM, Tuesday, July 29.

Moreover, continued Rosan, leaders of neighboring countries such as Singapore and Malaysia have recently visited each other.

He gave an example of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim who made state visits to Indonesia twice in 3 weeks.

Then the visit made by President Prabowo Subianto to Singapore recently has also become a form of cooperation between countries in Southeast Asia.

"So the response is very positive, especially ASEAN countries because they agree that in the midst of such high tension, regionally they must improve more in terms of investment and trade," continued Rosan.

Regarding investment made by Japan, Rosan said he had just returned from a visit to Japan and received a positive response. During the visit, he said, Japan expressed its desire to invest in new and renewable energy (EBT) such as geothermal with an investment value of 900 million US dollars.

"Then other investments that have been delayed, they are also committed to increasing," he said.
