JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI affirms its commitment to supporting Koperasi Desa Merah Putih.Cooperative Program, which was officially launched by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Bentangan Village, Klaten, Central Java, Monday, July 21. Koperasi Desa Merah Putih aims to form 80,000 cooperative units throughout Indonesia.

Cooperatives will manage various strategic services such as basic food outlets, logistics distribution, warehouses, cold storage, pharmacies, village clinics, to savings and loan units.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo explained that BNI has prepared various financial solutions to strengthen village cooperatives. Among them are through the BNIdirect platform, wondr by BNI, and the Age46 network which reaches remote parts of the country.

BNI assesses that this initiative is in line with the vision of its founder, RM Margono Djojohadikusumo, who emphasized the importance of building economic power from villages to support equitable national growth.
"With BNI's active involvement, this program is expected to be able to accelerate the equitable distribution of village welfare and independence in a sustainable manner," concluded Okki.
