Minister Of Transportation Dudy: Safety And Pioneer Services Are Priority

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi said the safety and service of sentiment in frontier, outermost, underdeveloped, and border areas (3TP) remains a priority of the Ministry of Transportation.

"Perintis still needs support from the government, considering that these routes are economically inadequate," Dudy said in an official statement, Thursday, July 10.

Currently, said Dudy, the Ministry of Transportation has also prepared various strategic programs to support national accessibility and ensure professional and sustainable transportation services.

Therefore, Dudy said to accommodate the fulfillment of transportation safety and security facilities as well as this service, the Ministry of Transportation has proposed an additional budget requirement of IDR 13.25 trillion.

That way, the total 2026 ceiling will change to IDR 37.66 trillion or 77.02 percent of the ceiling needs of IDR 48.88 trillion.

"Then revitalize the port and airport, which over time there is a decrease in carrying capacity, we want it to be used so that improvements are needed," he said.

Dudy also emphasized the importance of modernizing transportation so that Indonesia does not lag behind the times, even with budget constraints that must be managed on target.

"We hope that we are not outdated to always update or modernize our transportation. We need to do many things even with an efficient budget," he explained.

According to Dudy, crucial aspects such as the navision system must be updated to ensure safety and security because meodernization makes main productivity in building a sustainable national transportation sector.
