RI-US Entrepreneurs Secure Strategic Commercial Agreement, Value Of IDR 552.9 Trillion

JAKARTA - Entrepreneurs from Indonesia and their partners from the United States managed to secure a commercial agreement in the strategic sector with a total of 34 billion US dollars or around Rp552.9 trillion as part of efforts to improve economic relations between the two countries.

The commercial agreement was reached in a high-level business meeting organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the Indonesian Embassy in Washington, DC on Monday 7 July 2025.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto emphasized that Indonesia is committed to strengthening cooperation with the US, including in an effort to reach an agreement on trade rates.

The economic relationship between Indonesia and the US has always been good and needs to be maintained. One of the steps to strengthen this relationship is through the commitment of Indonesian business actors to buy US superior products in the agricultural and energy sector, with a total value of 34 billion US dollars," said Airlangga as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 9.

The commercial agreement and commitment was outlined in the signing of various memorandums of understanding, which is believed to pave the way for new cooperation opportunities and deepen bilateral economic ties.

"We believe that this partnership can create thousands of quality jobs, support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and increase the exchange of knowledge and technology in both countries," said Ad Interim's Ad Authority, Indonesian Embassy to the United States, Sade Bimantara, in the same statement.

Through these business meetings, the Government of Indonesia seeks to show a commitment to foster mutually beneficial partnerships with the US, which is rooted in the principle of mutual respect and mutual commitment to progress.

Indonesia also hopes to build future-oriented economic relations that benefit the two countries and contribute to regional and global prosperity.

The strategic commercial agreement was carried out by Indonesian industrial leaders from strategic sectors such as energy and agriculture with their partners in the United States.

Among the companies present were PT Pertamina, and PT. Clothing Apparel Group (representing the Indonesian Textile Association), and FKS Group, Sorini Agro Asia Corporindo (member of the Indonesian Corn Provincial Manufacturers Association), and the Indonesian Teralung Flour Producer Association.
