Waskita Karya (WSKT) Gets A Project Contract In Saudi Arabia, Its Value Is Around IDR 2 Trillion

JAKARTA - PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Planning and Development Co Ltd (PLADCO) to seize opportunities to work on projects in Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries.

The signing, which was carried out in Jeddah, coincided with President Prabowo Subianto's visit to Saudi Arabia.

"This collaboration shows that Waskita is again trusted by foreign companies to work on foreign projects. The company is considered capable of building projects according to international standard quality," said Waskita Karya Corporate Secretary Ermy Puspa Yunita in her official statement, Friday, July 4.

Through this collaboration, Waskita can again participate in tenders in Saudi Arabia, such as the construction of airports, stadiums and others.

The company targets the contract value obtained at around IDR 1-2 trillion for several projects that have the potential to be worked on together.

Currently, Waskita has also participated in the King Salman International Airport (KSIA) Package Runway 3 tender with the potential contract value of Rp970 billion.

Furthermore, the company and PLADCO are following the tender process for the KSIA Package Runway 4 project and the Enabling Works Package.

"Waskita has an advantage in technical experience and management, while the PLADCO as a Saudi Arabian company has added value as a local entity. So with the collaboration of the two, it is hoped that it can provide a greater chance of winning the tender," he said.

Later, Waskita can also be a subcontractor to work on projects in Saudi Arabia.

Including being a partner that provides labor and engineering to support various developments there.

The company has a number of experience in working on international projects.

One of the most monumental is the renovation of the Kaaba's matif at the Grand Mosque, Saudi Arabia.

In addition, Waskita has also completed the construction of King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), a campus building at King Saud University and International King Abdulaziz Airport Flyover in Saudi Arabia.

There is also the structural construction of Burj View in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), the improvement of TonoOesila Street, Oecusse Border Road, Suai Airport in Timor Leste and President Nicolau Lobato International Airport (PNLIa) in Timor Leste which is under construction.
