Puan Asks The Government To Anticipate Global Gejolak At The 2026 RAPBN

Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, revealed that the Government, which is currently preparing the 2026 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget Draft (RAPBN), will also consider global and domestic economic factors.

Puan said that the DPR RI will discuss the Discussion on the Preamble to the RAPBN for Fiscal Year 2026, as well as the Draft Law on Accountability for the Implementation of the State Budget for Fiscal Year 2024.

"The Indonesian House of Representatives will discuss the preliminary discussion of the RAPBN for the 2026 Fiscal Year and the draft law on accountability for the implementation of the State Budget for the 2024 Fiscal Year," he said in his opening speech at the 20th DPR Plenary Session, Tuesday, June 24.

He also reminded that the global economy next year is expected to still be colored by dynamics and uncertainty.

In addition, Puan also highlighted that geopolitical tensions and the uncertainty of the world economy could disrupt supply chains, weaken people's purchasing power, and hinder investment rates so that these things will directly affect the effectiveness of the use of the state budget.

Therefore, Puan said that the DPR would immediately start talks on the introduction of the 2026 RAPBN, after the government conveyed the Macroeconomic Framework and the Principles of Fiscal Policy (KEM-PPKF).

"The discussion of KEM-PPKF 2026 must have anticipated this which could have an impact on the capacity of the State Budget to carry out the national development of KEM-PPKF in 2026 and must also contain policies of various latest developments," he said.

In addition to external factors, Puan also requested that KEM-PPKF 2026 respond to domestic issues, including the implications of the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the state's obligation to provide free basic education.
