JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has completed the construction of the Paralympic Training Center in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java (Central Java). This facility is a form of real support for the government for the advancement of disabled athletes in Indonesia.
The construction has been carried out since December 2023 and completed in December 2024 with the cost of the state budget reaching Rp421.9 billion.
The sports training center is located in Delingan Village, Karanganyar, this is built on an area of 80,262 square meters with a total building area of 34,346 square meters consisting of a Gor 1 building covering an area of 17,482 square meters and a dormitory building covering an area of 16,864 square meters.
The dormitory building includes two flat towers as high as 4 floors with a capacity of 188 rooms that can accommodate 392 athletes.
In addition, a number of modern and complete facilities were also built, including the main swimming pool; warm-up pool; recovery pool; boccia arena; and shooting arena.
Then, there is the table tennis arena and wheel chair tennis table; badminton arena; weightlifting arena; blind judo arena; and multifunctional space.
Next, the football field; 400 meters athletic track; long jump track; high jump track; and shot put track.
PU Minister Dody Hanggodo hopes that this training center can become a training platform for quality national paralympic athletes, so that they can improve performance in the international arena.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Strategic Infrastructure of the Ministry of Public Works, Maulidya Indah Junica, said that all sports facilities at the Paralympic Training Center have been confirmed to be international standard. "We have also planned the construction of phase 2 to add 1 gor building and 1 more dormitory building so that it can accommodate more athletes and other sports facilities," he said.
