JAKARTA PT Elnusa Tbk (ELSA), shows its commitment to supporting the national energy transition by presenting a portfolio of energy service solutions in the IPA Convention and Exhibition (IPA Convex) 2025 event.
In this event, Elnusa joined the booth of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi as Pertamina's Upstream Subholding. This participation is a symbol of synergy and strategic collaboration in displaying various superior portfolios of integrated energy service solutions.
Elnusa's Director of Business Development, Arief Prasetyo Handoyo, said that in this international-scale energy forum, Elnusa carried the Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technological innovation as part of the company's strategic approach to answer the decarbonization challenge while strengthening national energy security.
"Elnusa displays end-to-end integrated CCUS solutions, covering the entire operational cycle of the emission-capture & liquefaction process, temporary storage, transportation, injection and storage, to carbon utilization," he said in his statement, Thursday, May 22.
Arief conveyed that this visualization illustrates Elnusa's readiness to provide an attractive and broad-impact low-carbon energy service.
According to him, by prioritizing synergies between group entities, Elnusa and its subsidiaries PT Elnusa Trans Samudera (ETSA), PT Elnusa Petrofin (EPN), PT Sigma Cipta Utama (SCU), and PT Elnusa Fabricasi Konstruksi (EFK), offered a comprehensive business model to support CCUS' agenda in Indonesia.
He added that in terms of capture, Elnusa has main competence in Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Installation (EPCI) services, Operation & Maintenance, and Turn Around Services.
"At the stage of capture/capturing carbon, Elnusa adopted and developed post-combustion technology such as absorptionamine and membrane," he explained.
Arief said that at the carbon transportation stage, Elnusa had the competence of the elite EPCI both on land and subsea.
In addition, still at the transportation stage, ETSA has competence as the executor of CO2 marine transport, and EPN has competence for CO2 Land transport.
"EFK can support infrastructure and pipeline layering needs through steel structure fabrication and anti-corrosion tubular products. SCU is also present as a physical and electronic data management backbone in the integration of CCUS systems," he said.
Arief conveyed that in terms of carbon storage and utilization, Elnusa has geoscience, drilling & well services, as well as Monitoring, Measurement & Verification (MMV) services.
Regarding MMV services, he conveyed that of the 25 monitoring methods selected in the Handbook MMV CCS issued by lemigas, Elnusa had experience with at least 9 methods such as 2D seismic, 3D seismic, Vertical Seismic Profiling (VSP), Ground Tightening Radar (GRR), Land Electromagnetic, Gravimetry, Seismic Crosswell, Casing Inspection Logs, and Cement Bond Logging (CBL) with a combination of CO Log.
As for September 2024 to January 2025, Elnusa Wireline Services participated in supporting the success of Project Inter-well CO2 Injection in Sukowati Field by bringing the latest technology, namely CO Log, a tool used to measure the baseline oil saturation before the CO2 Injection process and re-monitoring oil saturation in the post-CO2 Injection target zone.
"Output from the CO-Log logging has measured the success criteria of the Interwell Inject CO2 Injection by looking at the oil oneration reduction in the injector well," he said.
Arief conveyed that Elnusa's participation in the 2025 IPA Convex is an important momentum to show Elnusa's real contribution in an effort to support the government in achieving the national decarbonization target.
"Elnusa also has a track record of implementing CCUS services, such as the CO2 Huff-n-Puff simulation project at Jatibarang Field in 2019 and CO2 Injection in Sukowati in 2024, involving logging services, H2S handling, to geoscience-based engineering," said Arief.

According to him, this participation also reinforces Elnusa's commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
Arief said the CCUS service development initiative not only expanded Elnusa's business portfolio, but also became the foundation in creating long-term added value for stakeholders and the environment.
"With the spirit of innovation and collaboration across entities, Elnusa is optimistic that it can become a catalyst for the transformation of the energy sector in Indonesia that is efficient, adaptive, and globally competitive," he concluded.
