Erick Offers Retired Candidates For Himbara To Occupy The Manager Position Of The Red-White Cooperative

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir offered retired candidates for the State Bank-Bank Association (Himbara) to occupy a position as manager at the Red-White Village Cooperative.

"We, SOEs, offer that a lot of Himbara banks are also ready to move some of their employees who may retire from there for 1 to 2 years, they can also enter as managers if they are open," Erick said in a working meeting with Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, in Jakarta, Tuesday, May 20.

Erick said the involvement of SOEs was as a support party. His party will assist so that cooperative management can run well.

"We will also assist the management system when needed. Then later, if necessary, the transfer of our agents will also be open if it is to assist cooperatives, so the essence is like that," he said.

Furthermore, Erick said the village cooperative business model was designed as needed. Later, it could become a savings and loan cooperative (KSP), or cooperative to support food production in the regions. For example, fertilizer cooperatives, livestock cooperatives, and so on.

"The initial target, if I'm not mistaken yesterday, was decided on 80 samples, this modeling is what we see. So the proposal was proposed from the cooperative, what kind of business model, for example, livestock cooperatives," he said.

In addition, Erick emphasized that the government is trying to make the Red-White Village Cooperative a success. However, he continued, if there are villages that fail to manage, there will be consequences.

Furthermore, Erick said the consequence was that the receipt of Village Funds for the area was reduced.

"We don't expect it to fail, we have to say the village must succeed. (If it fails), the village funds will be cut gradually," he explained.
