Pertamax in Balikpapan is Scarce, Pertamina Increases Supply from Samarinda

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Region Kalimantan has increased the supply of Pertamax fuel from the Samarinda Fuel Terminal to meet the needs of the Balikpapan community who are complaining about the scarcity of Pertamax.

"Pertamina continues to make maximum efforts to ensure that Pertamax distribution runs smoothly, including by adjusting and strengthening the supply from the nearest fuel terminal," said Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Region Kalimantan, Edi Mangun in his statement to the media, Tuesday, May 20.

According to Edi, the spike in demand in recent times shows the high consumption of quality fuel by the community.

"We greatly appreciate the loyalty and trust of loyal Pertamax consumers. We also apologize for the inconvenience and we continue to strive to improve services and ensure that the community's energy needs can be met properly," he added.

Edi ensured that Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to monitor conditions in the field and coordinate with various related parties to ensure the smooth distribution of fuel, especially Pertamax, in the Balikpapan area and its surroundings.

Previously, this fuel shortage was complained about by Adi (40) an online motorcycle taxi driver in Balikpapan.

When contacted by VOI, Adi admitted that he had difficulty getting Pertamax fuel since May 18 and the peak occurred on May 19.

"Balikpapan is in a fuel emergency. (Empty) since 2 days ago but it peaked last night," said Adi.

To meet his fuel needs, Adi admitted that he was forced to buy Pertamax from a retailer at a fairly expensive price.

"IDR 25,000 for a large A*ua bottle," said Adi.
