JAKARTA - The Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo targets the Palembang 'Betung Toll Road to be used or used in the first quarter of 2026 or to coincide with the Lebaran homecoming season.

Dody made this statement while reviewing the progress of the construction of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) for the Palembang 'Betung section, one of the main corridors in South Sumatra, Friday, May 2.
The review was carried out at the Musi V Bridge located on the Palembang 'Betung Toll Road Section 1.
Dody emphasized that the Ministry of Public Works continues to be committed to encouraging the acceleration of the completion of the JTTS project for the Palembang 'Betung' section.
"We will continue to support the construction of this project so that it is completed on time, because this provides great benefits for the community," he said.
The Palembang Toll Road is divided into three sections, with a total length of 69.19 kilometers. The details, Sections 1 and 2 (Palembang'Rengas' Pangkalan Balai along 54.5 kilometers have reached the construction progress of 70.69 percent.

Section 1 and 2 were carried out by PT Waskita Karya with an investment value of IDR 2.67 trillion. Meanwhile, Section 3 was carried out by PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur with an investment value of IDR 2.1 trillion.
Head of the South Sumatra National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) Hardy Siahaan assessed that the Palembang 'Betung Toll Road will be a strategic infrastructure that connects Bakauheni to Jambi and Aceh areas.
"The presence of the Palembang 'Betung Toll Road really helps the movement from Bakauheni to Jambi, even to Aceh. According to the direction of the Minister (Dody Hanggodo), we hope this toll road can be functional before Eid 2026 because it will really help the homecoming flow and back," he said.
Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim said the presence of the toll road would effectively cut travel time from Palembang to Betung.
