Cultural Innovation, PPRO's Evenciio Apartment Manages Independent Waste With This Method

JAKARTA - PT PP Properti Tbk (PPRO), a property developer in Indonesia, continues to be committed to creating a comfortable and environmentally friendly sustainable residence. Evenciio Apartment, one of the Student Residence products owned by PPRO's subsidiary, PT Wisma Belajar Sejahtera, shows progressive steps by innovating organic waste management through the Master's Method (Black Soldier Fly or BSF).

This also supports the invitation of the Mayor of Depok, Supian Suri, which encourages all people and business actors to actively contribute to overcoming waste problems through environmental-based approaches.

In realizing this breakthrough, Evenciio collaborated with Den Maggot, the fostered partner of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), to optimize the magazine cultivation method with a vertical rack system. The entire process was carried out by the Building Management Evenciio team by forming a 3R team (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), and involving active participation of residents through education and provision of special waste sorting facilities in apartment areas.

Every day, the housing located in the center of Depok City, precisely on Jalan Margonda Raya, produces 9 cubic meters of waste consisting of 20 percent organic waste and 70 percent inorganic waste, and 10% B3 waste.

This innovation has proven to be effective in reducing waste management costs by up to 78 percent per month. Not only that, almost all organic waste can be described optimally in a relatively short time, so as to create a healthier residential environment.

In addition, the rest of the maggot decomposition can be used as organic fertilizer, while the maggots that have been dried and into flour are used as fish feed in the Evenciio pond.

PP Properti's VP Corporate Secretary, Afrilia Pratiwi, stated that this step is a clear proof of PPRO's commitment to the environment as well as social responsibility.
