Ketum Kadin Anindya Bakrie: Renovation Of Uninhabitable Houses Is Part Of The 'Quick Win' Program

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) revealed that the renovation of uninhabitable houses or RTLH residents was part of the four acceleration programs (Quick Win) of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

"So this is something we are proud of and we will do more and more, because it's a shame if we take part in Jakarta but many of our neighbors whose houses are still unfit for habitation. So that's one of the four Quick Wins," said Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anindya Novyan Bakrie in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 16.

Kadin's four acceleration programs (Quick Win) include support for free nutritious food (MBG), free health checks (PKG), migrant labor programs, and livable and affordable housing.

Kadin started the renovation of RTLH totaling 500 housing units with 200 housing units in Jakarta and the rest in West Java, Banten, East Nusa Tenggara, and Bangka Belitung.

"However, what is important today is the beginning of the proof that Kadin is not only struggling to strengthen the government in terms of trade policy and also investment, but also in terms of ensuring that this housing is not only livable but also industrialization will be achieved," said Anindya.

According to him, many members of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry are vendors of house construction so that in the regions wherever they are, such as in Bangka Belitung and NTT, industrialization or members of Kadin who can become part of development can also get economic movement.

For information, the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) emphasized that the renovation of uninhabitable houses for people is unable without using APBN, APBD, and BUMN funds, but through the spirit of mutual cooperation with various parties such as the community and private entrepreneurs.

The Ministry of PKP cooperates with the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to build and renovate the houses of underprivileged people in Johar Baru Village, Tanah Tinggi, Jakarta. The Minister of PKP was present to directly check the results of the house renovation construction which is part of the 3 Million House Program.

Details of the RTLH Renovation Program activities in Indonesia carried out by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with plans to handle 500 housing units will be renovated with a composition of RTLH located in Jakarta 200 units, West Java 100 units, Banten 200 units, Bangka Belitung 50 units, and NTT 50 units.
