JAKARTA - Head of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas), Djoko Siswanto, revealed that Indonesia will cut the export quota for liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Singapore.
Djoko said this was done to meet the needs of domestic LNG. However, he ensured that gas exports to Singapore would be maximized through pipeline gases from the Natuna Islands.
"We are still trying to fulfill the LNG domestically. We are reducing those to Singapore for domestic needs. We will maximize the fulfillment of Singapore from Natuna," he said, quoted on Thursday, April 10.
The plan is that the reduction in LNG's exports to Singapore will be carried out in June and will be allocated for domestic needs. The gas supply that will be reduced by a breakaway from Sumatra is 3 cargoes or 30 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd).
"Yes. We will reduce those to Singapore, but we will maximize those from natuna," he continued.
