Antang Monitored On Eid Day, Cipali Toll Road Only Passed 9,200 Vehicles

JAKARTA - The traffic flow on the Cikopo 'Palimanan (Cipali) Toll Road was observed to be deserted both from Jakarta to Cirebon and the opposite direction during Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri.

The manager of the Cikopo Toll Road, Palimanan Astra Tol Cipali, reported that only 9,200 vehicles crossed the toll road heading towards Cirebon, Monday, March 31.

Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Department Head of Cipali Toll Road Ardam Rafif Trisilo said this figure decreased by 58 percent when compared to the volume of traffic to Cirebon at the same time yesterday.

"From 00.00 WIB to 09.00 WIB, around 9,200 vehicles via Cikopo from Jakarta to Cirebon, (this figure) is 58 percent lower than the volume of traffic to Cirebon at the same time yesterday," said Ardam in a written statement, Monday, March 31.

Meanwhile, there are around 1,600 vehicles via the Cikopo toll road from Cirebon to Jakarta.

In addition, said Ardam, eight rest areas on the Cipali Toll Road were also observed to be quite empty on Monday morning. Given, many parking spaces and facilities such as toilets are still available for road users.

"We urge road users to always maintain a safe speed and distance limit and not use the shoulder of the road to rest for the sake of smooth traffic and safety together," he concluded.
