Garuda Indonesia Records 25 Thousand Passengers Homecoming On D-9 & D-10 Lebaran 2025

JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk recorded around 25 thousand passengers starting to go home from Jakarta during the period of transportation of D-10 and D-9 Eid Al-Fitr 2025/1446 Hijri.

"Garuda Indonesia recorded the movement of 25,000 passengers out of Jakarta this weekend or D-9 and D-10 Lebaran," said Garuda Indonesia Head of Corporate Communications Dicky Irkhamsyah, in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Monday, March 24.

Dicky said that at the weekend of Saturday and Sunday it was estimated that the movement of Garuda Indonesia passengers from Jakarta would reach at least 25 thousand passengers.

According to him, this number grew by about 21 percent from passenger traffic records the previous weekend. Kendari did not mention the number of airline passengers the previous week.

"The projected peak homecoming flow will take place on March 28, 2025," said Dicky.

Garuda Indonesia Group has prepared 1.9 million flight seats for the Eid 2025 transportation period and is the largest number in the last three years.

Garuda Indonesia Commercial Director Ade R Susardi said the 1.9 million seats consisted of 1 million seats from Garuda and 902,000 seats from Citylink airlines.

In addition, the frequency of flights for this period was also increased to 10,906 for both airlines.

"So, if we look at Garuda Seat, it is around 1,027,000. For Citilink in 900 thousand. This is our readiness to accommodate Lebaran traffic and this is growing from the previous year," said Ade at a press conference on Garuda Indonesia Group Infrastructure Readiness for the Lebaran Period at the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta, Thursday, March 6.

Ade said Garuda Indonesia Group also prepared 95 aircraft to support the operation of the Lebaran 2025 holiday. The fleet consists of 61 Garuda aircraft and 34 units for Citilink.

The aircraft prepared consisted of three ATRs, 74 narrow bodies and 18 wide bodies. This year, the national airline is also supported by 1,497 cockpit crews and 2,443 cabin crew on duty.

"Besides that, we make Lebaran posts at every airport, there is also a hotline and here all Garuda employees join, so if those who want to meet the board of directors during Lebaran will definitely meet at the airport," said Ade.

Furthermore, Ade projects that the peak of Eid flow will occur from March 24 to April 7, 2025, where homecoming flows take place on March 28, 2025 and April 6, 2025 for the peak of backflow.
