Prabowo's Nephew Denies That The TNI Bill Caused The JCI To Drop

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission I DPR RI Budisatrio Djiwandono denied the volatility of stock trading that occurred yesterday, which caused the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) to temporarily freeze trading, influenced by domestic sentiment, including the polemic of the revision of Law Number 34 of 2004 concerning the TNI.

Therefore, Budi, who is also President Prabowo Subianto's nephew, said that there was no placement of active soldiers in state-owned enterprises (BUMN).

"I don't think so, we can show that there is no placement of active members in BUMN-BUMN," told the media crew, Wednesday, March 19.

Budi claims that the government and the Indonesian House of Representatives still prioritize civil supremacy and the spirit of reform in every policy.

"I don't understand where it has been circulating, but since yesterday we have discussed a lot that the Indonesian House of Representatives has prioritized the civilian supremacy and the spirit of reform as well," he said.

Therefore, he said, market participants should not worry about the possibility of active soldiers entering the BUMN environment.

"So there is no need to worry about active officers entering the scope of SOEs without them doing this," he said.

Previously, Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives approved the Draft Law (RUU) Number 34 of 2004 concerning the Indonesian National Army (TNI) to be brought to level II talks or plenary meetings.

This approval agreement was taken in a plenary meeting of the TNI Bill between Commission I of the DPR RI and the Government which was held at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 18.

Initially, the Chairman of Commission I Utut Adianto said that all stages of the process of discussing the TNI Bill had been passed by the DPR and the government.
