KARAWANG - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Budi Santoso revealed that there were 66 companies that were indicated to have cheated on simple packaged cooking oil under the Minyakita trademark.
Budi said the findings were based on the results of supervision of basic necessities, including cooking oil, which was carried out by the Ministry of Trade together with the National Police Food Task Force and related ministries/agencies.
Furthermore, Budi explained that since December 2024, supervision has also been tightened, including Oilita, in the context of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 (Nataru), until the approaching Eid Al-Fitr.
"From the tightened supervision, we found several companies that committed violations. There were around 66 companies recorded, but the violations varied," he said at a press conference exposing the findings of the Oilita factory in Karawang, West Java, Thursday, March 13.
Budi explained that the 66 companies committed violations ranging from bundling packages, incomplete licensing, selling prices above the Highest Retail Price (HET), to inappropriate KBLI permits.

"We have carried out administrative sanctions against the company," he explained.
Budi said that in January 2025, the Ministry of Trade also sealed PT Navyta Nabati Indonesia (NNI) which is located in Tangerang.
"On January 24, 2025, we carried out surveillance or sealing of PT NNI in Tangerang. It was also found that producing Oilita did not reach 1 liter or at that time 750 ml. We have closed the company, it is not operating and is now in the process at the Police," he said.
