JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo revealed the rehabilitation of the Irrigation Region (DI) Gung, which is located in Balapulang District, Tegal Regency, Central Java, to support food self-sufficiency.
Dody said DI Gung has the main function of irrigating 6,632 hectares (ha) of agricultural land. In addition, it is also a flood control.

DI Gung is located in Tegal Regency, with the service area covering Balapulang, Lebaksulu, Pangkah, Slawi, Adiwerna, Dukuhwaru, Talang, Tarub, Dukuhturi, Jatibarang, and Pagerangang.
DI Gung has a primary channel of 8.91 km with a discharge of 6.579 m3/second. And serves a secondary channel of 102.75 km. The secondary channel (SS) is divided into SS Susukan, SS Danawarih, SS Pendilawesi, SS Dukuh Waru, SS Bulu, SS Begal, SS Jembangan, SS Wadas, SS Susukan, SS Bawang, SS Curug, SS Jarot and SS Kabukan.
