Minister Rosan Targets Investment Until 2029 Capai IDR 13,032 Trillion

JAKARTA - Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani reported the investment ministry's work plan for the next 5 years to President Prabowo Subianto.

Rosan admitted that the total investment target collected until 2029 reached IDR 13,032 trillion.

"That's what I convey to the President, and of course, hopefully, this investment that enters Indonesia can also create quality employment opportunities and at the same time, this will also contribute as one of the motors driving economic growth," said Rosan as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 2.

Rosan said the investment target in 2025 was IDR 1,905 trillion, while the investment target when Indonesia reached 8 percent economic growth in 2029 reached IDR 3,414 trillion.

This is not an easy job. This is a tough job so it is also hoped that the cooperation and coordination of all relevant ministries, especially in this investment, will involve 18 ministries in our system, so that it is hoped that the cooperation with the 18 ministries will also increase in the future," continued Rosan.

During his meeting with the President, the Minister of Investment also discussed strategies to increase investment contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP). He mentioned the current figure is around 24'25 percent. Rosan said the Ministry of Investment was trying to increase this number.

Finally, Rosan also reported the results of a working visit to China last week to the President. From that visit, he said that Indonesia received an investment commitment of 7.46 billion US dollars from four companies.

"At the same time, we also encourage investment entering Indonesia to immediately start investment, such as BYD, which has purchased land in the Subang area, it is hoped that investment for its manufacturing will start early next year," continued Rosan.

President Prabowo has summoned several ministers and heads of institutions to the State Palace in Jakarta since Thursday afternoon. The ranks of officials summoned by Prabowo alternately reported the results of their work to the President.

In addition to Rosan, there was also the Head of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) Isma Yatun who met the President at the Palace. Isma, who was accompanied by the main BPK officials, said she was facing the President to submit the Summary of the Semester Examination Results (IHSP) I/2024.
