Prabowo Plans To Visit IKN In The Near Future, Here's The Leak

Deputy Minister of Public Works (PU) Diana Kusumastuti said Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto plans to make a visit to the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) in the near future.

If realized, this visit will be the first time since Prabowo served as President of the Republic of Indonesia on October 20, 2024.

Diana said that the Ministry of Public Works had sent an invitation letter to the President through the Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) to make a visit to IKN which was planned for December 2024.

It's just that, said Diana, currently her party is still waiting for confirmation from the Cabinet Secretary regarding the certainty of Prabowo's visit schedule to IKN.

"We have written, but we are still waiting for coordination when the time is. We have proposed it in the near future, this December," Diana said when met at the Mandiri Tower, Jakarta, Monday, December 9.

Meanwhile, Basuki said, if Prabowo's visit was not completed in December 2024, it was possible that the Head of State would be there in January 2025.

"We are coordinating with the Minister of Public Works. If not December (2024), yes, January (2025)," he said.

Previously, Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo said President Prabowo Subianto would have an office in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, starting August 17, 2028.

This was conveyed by Dody when asked by the media about when the target for IKN development would be completed in the era of Prabowo's leadership.

"Pak Prabowo's target is August 17, 2028, already based there (IKN). As soon as August 17, 2029," said Dody when met by reporters at the PU Ministry office, Jakarta, Friday, December 6.

Dody assessed that the development of IKN in the era of Prabowo's leadership will be focused on building a legislative and judicial building.

"(The construction of the building) is executive, legislative and judicial, along with (the transfer) of all Jakarta ASN. The focus is there first," he said.

However, he did not deny that currently the ministry he leads has the task of getting Prabowo to focus on food self-sufficiency supporting infrastructure. Thus, the Ministry of Public Works will work on the mandate first.

"The influence is very slow, yes, no. So, the priority is maybe those who withdraw with us," said Dody.
