OJK Revokes Business Permit Of PT BPR Duta Niaga Pontianak

The Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) has prepared a claim payment process for deposit guarantees and the implementation of liquidation of PT Bank Perekonomian Rakyat (BPR) Duta Niaga/DOK ANTARA

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) revoked the business license of PT Bank Percreditan Rakyat (BPR) Duta Niaga which is located at Jalan Pangeran Natakusuma Number 80D, Sungai Bangkong Village, Pontianak Kota District, Pontianak City, West Kalimantan Province.

"The revocation of the business license of PT BPR Duta Niaga is part of the supervisory action carried out by the OJK to continue to maintain and strengthen the banking industry and protect consumers," said Head of OJK West Kalimantan Province Rochma Hidayati in a statement in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, December 6.

On January 15, 2024, OJK has designated PT BPR Duta Niaga as a bank with a Bank Dalam Restructuring (BDP) supervisory status because it has a KPMM ratio of less than 12 percent, the average Cash Ratio (CR) over the past three months is less than 5 percent, and the BPR Health Level (TKS) has an Unhealthy predicate.

Furthermore, on November 12, 2024, OJK determined PT BPR Duta Niaga in its supervisory status of Bank Dalam Resolution with the consideration that OJK has given sufficient time to the Management and Shareholders of PT BPR Duta Niaga to make restructuring efforts, especially in overcoming capital and liquidity problems. However, the management and shareholders of BPR cannot reshape the BPR.

Based on the Decree of the Member of the Board of Commissioners for the Savings and Resolution Guarantee Program of the Deposit Institution Number 134/ADK3/2024 dated November 26, 2024 concerning Bank Settlement in the Resolution of PT BPR Duta Niaga, the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) decided not to rescue PT BPR Duta Niaga and asked the OJK to revoke the BPR's business license.

In following up on the LPS request, OJK revoked the business license of PT BPR Duta Niaga.

With the revocation of the business license, LPS will carry out the guarantee function and carry out the liquidation process according to the law.

OJK appealed to customers of PT BPR Duta Niaga to remain calm because public funds in banks including BPR are guaranteed by LPS in accordance with applicable regulations.
