Seven Toll Roads Open Free During Christmas And New Year Holidays, Here Are The Details

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) will operate seven toll roads functionally, aka free during the 2024 Christmas Holidays and 2025 New Year (Nataru 2024/2025) period.

The length of these seven toll roads reaches 120.4 kilometers (km). PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said the operation of these toll roads functionally to support the smooth flow of homecoming and return during Nataru.

"There are several temporary functional toll roads that are opened to the public to support the smooth flow of the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year homecoming. The length of the temporary functional toll road is 120.4 km," said Dody in a working meeting (Raker) with Commission V at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, December 4.

Dody said the toll roads were spread across Java and Sumatra. In detail, the functional toll road sections are 90.4 km in Sumatra and 29.98 km in Java.

The functional toll roads on the island of Java include the following: (1) The South Jakarta 'Cikampek II Toll Road Section Kutanegara' Sadang, (2) The Solo 'Yogyakarta Toll Road Section' Purwomartani for the Klaten Segment.

Next, (3) Probolinggo Toll Road 'Banyuwangi Phase I (Probolinggo 'Besuki) and (4) Kuala Tanjung Toll Road' Tebing Tinggi Parapat Section Kuala Tanjung'IC Indrapura).

Furthermore, on the island of Sumatra, there are functional toll roads, including: (5) SigliBanda Aceh Section 1 (Padang TijiSeulimeum), (6) Binjai 'Langsa Section 3 Tanjung Pura' Pangkalan Brandan and (7) Pekanbaru 'Padang Section Padang' Sicincin.

In addition, said Dody, there are additional toll roads operating throughout 2024.

It was recorded that there were about 196 km of new toll roads throughout 2024 spread across Java and Sumatra.

"To support the smooth running of the Nataru holiday, the efforts made are to add a 47.6 km toll road to operate along the island of Java (in) 2024," he said.

For the new toll road on the island of Java itself, there is the Cimanggis 'Cibitung Toll Road section 2B Cikeas' Cibitung along 19.7 km and the Cibitung 'Cilincing Section Cibitung Section 0.4 km.

Then the Solo 'Yogyakarta' Toll Road Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) Kulon Progo Section 1.1 Kartasura' Klaten along 22.3 km, Serpong Toll Road Section 1B Simpang Susun CBD Intersection Legok along 5.3 km.

Meanwhile, on the island of Sumatra alone, the total addition of operational toll roads has only reached 149 km this year. In detail, there is the Indrapura Toll Road 'Village Section 2 Fifty' kisaran along 32.6 km, the Pekanbaru 'Padang section Bangkinang' Pangkalan stage I (Bangkinang to Koto Kampar) to 36.6 km.

Plus there is the Kuala Tanjung' Tebing Tinggi Toll Road (Kupat) Section 3 (High Cliff Function) Dolok Merawan 'Interchange (IC) Dolok Merawan) and part section 4 (IC Dolok Merawan'IC Sinaksak) along 45.6 km. Finally, there is the Betung 'Tempino' Toll Road Jambi Section 3 (Tempino Bayung Lencir Segment) along 34.1 km.

"From year to year, the Ministry of Public Works is always committed and continues to strive to improve road transportation services through the addition of long non-toll roads and toll roads," said Dody.
