Prabowo Announces Minimum Wage 2025 Up 6.5 Percent

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto announced to increase the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) by 6.5 percent today, Friday, November 29.

Prabowo said the decision was taken after a limited meeting (ratas) with Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar and Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

"The Minister of Manpower proposed an increase in the UMP by 6 percent and after holding a meeting with the labor leaders, we decided to increase the national average in 2025 by 6.5 percent," said Prabowo, Friday, November 29.

Praabowo said, actually the minimum wage is a very important social safety network for workers who work under 12 months by considering the needs of decent living.

"For this reason, the determination of the UMP aims to increase the purchasing power of workers while still paying attention to business competitive data," he continued.

As for the sectoral UMP, Prabowo said that the Provincial, City and Regency Wage Council would determine it in detail through the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower (Permenaker).
