JAKARTA - Ify Alyssa has just released her second album titled Menata. This album contains eight songs, consisting of five new songs and three previously released songs.

Through the latest album, Ify hopes that the songs presented in this album can be heard by wider listeners.

"As a musician, I want his work to be better known and can come to the heart (personally)," said Ify Alyssa when met in Kemang, South Jakarta recently.

When asked about the hope that the song could go viral on social media, the former Blink member said, "It can be important, can it really be."

According to him, the song that went viral certainly made people hear more about his work. However, pursuing virality is not the main target.

"For me, virality is not the only way. For example, I worked, the goal was to go viral, not like that," said Ify.

"But even if it goes viral, it can add to our listeners, who previously didn't know we could know us. That's a good thing from virality. But it's not something we have to go after," he added.

Furthermore, the 28-year-old singer-writer revealed important lessons she got during her second album.

"There are a lot of lessons. Yes, it's more about teamwork too, because the album one and album two have different teams, so the adjustment is again with the new team. And also how to work with other people, and how to treat musicians who play on our albums," said Ify.

For information, eight songs on the album Menata are divided into three different phases, which are felt to describe the journey of life experienced by everyone.

The first phase is referred to as a happy or fun phase. There are three songs that describe this phase, namely Semesta Menari, Roda-Roda, and Semi.

Then, the second phase is referred to as the Gloomy or gloomy phase. There are two songs that are felt to represent, namely In Gurutan and Stop.

Furthermore, in the third phase it is referred to as the acceptance phase, with three songs representing it being 'Menata', 'Thank You', and 'Not Special'.

"In the song 'Menata', actually everything on the album can be said to be summarized in this song," said Ify.

Meanwhile, the work on this second album was assisted by Ari Renaldi, a music producer who has long been known as Ify. The process has been running since 2022, starting from workshops, music recordings in Bandung, and vocal recordings made by Ify in his private room in Jakarta.

Although this is the first time working with Ari in working on an album, Ify feels that what he is doing is going well and producing something he really wants from the start.

"When I come, I always bring a song, and Kang Ari can give a different language of music, but we can agree on the results," he said.
