Regarding Ojol Being Prohibited From Using Subsidized Fuel, Bahlil: Not Final

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia opened his voice regarding the ban on the use of subsidized fuel for online motorcycle taxis (ojol).

Bahlil said the decision had not yet been finalized and was still in the excellence stage and was still in the form of discourse.

"Yesterday I talked at my house. It's an EXcercise, there has been no final decision. What is clear is that we will make everything fair," Bahlil told the media crew at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Friday, November 29.

Bahlil added that the final decision will only be continued after the government has finished conducting an assessment of the new regulation. He ensured that the new regulation would be fair and only accepted by the people who were entitled.

Furthermore, Bahlil said that he had reported the terms and parties who received subsidies to President Prabowo Subianto. Furthermore, he said, his Ministry still had to wait for data on recipients from the Central Statistics Agency

"Oh yes, I have reported it. We are just waiting for the data on the recipients of the family. That will be done by BPS, sir, in the near future," explained Bahlil.

Previously, Bahlil said, from the option of the subsidy scheme reported to the President, one of which was the blending option, where subsidies were given to goods and others in the form of Direct Cash Assistance (BLT).

This scheme, he added, is to excite people's purchasing power and ensure subsidies are right on target.

Bahlil ensured that the subsidy would be given to the right community. Currently, the data on subsidy recipients has been studied, so that the data used will be uniform.

"So far, we know, like a few days ago I said, that this subsidy is suspected to be partly not on target. Those who are entitled to receive subsidies are our brothers and sisters who really, I'm sorry, the economy is middle to lower. And now, after we are excited by BPS, our data is now one data. The first thing we make sure is one data," he said.
