Minister Bahlil Mau Ditjen Gakkum ESDM Filled With TNI/Polri And Prosecutors

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil lahadalia revealed that the establishment of the Directorate General of Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (Gakkum) will go according to plan.

Later, the new Directorate General will be led by the TNI or Polri.

"Dirjen Gakkum akan dipimpin kalau tidak Polisi, TNI. Kalau enggak, jaksa," ujar Bahlil dalam sambutannya pada Minerba Expo, Senin, 25 November.

Bahlil said this was intended so that the conflict resolution of the Mining Business License (IUP) could be addressed immediately at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Previously, the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources was led by Bambang Suswantono, who is a retired TNI with the rank of Lieutenant General.

"Try to imagine that Lieutenant General Marines will become Plt. The Director General of Menerba for one year. What does that mean? Because it has been arranged for a long time, I have also dispatched soldiers to arrange it for us to look like it," continued Bahlil.

Bahlil also said that if the business entity and unscrupulous Directorate General of Mineral and Coal could not be regulated, he did not rule out the possibility that he would use the'military style' in carrying out law enforcement at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

"We ask for the support of fellow entrepreneurs, tell them what we need to help. But if there is something that friends think there should be natural input in order to improve, we will always be open to making improvements," Bahlil explained.

On the same occasion, Bahlil also appreciated Commission XII of the DPR RI who supported the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in establishing the Director General of Law Enforcement.

Previously, Bahlil asked for the support of Commission XII to form the Directorate General of Law and Human Rights at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Bahlil said that the formation of the Directorate General of Law and Human Rights was in accordance with the mandate of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 169 of 2024 concerning the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Not only that, Bahlil also said that currently his ministry has also prepared a structure of the Directorate General of Law and Human Rights so that in the near future he will be able to resolve problems related to illegal mining and illegal oil drilling.

"But I ask all of you to help, please support this, Director General of Law and Human Rights, please support it because it must be his seduction, the temptation is a lot of this Director General. I'm honest. So I also ask, if we want a commitment, we make this good stuff, come on," said Bahlil.
