JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) will soon complete the Puliun Jalan Soreang Geometric Development and Repair project in Bandung and Cianjur Regencies through Hutama-Abipraya Operational Cooperation (KSO).
Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim said the project worth 243.89 billion had reached 96.05 percent progress as of November 10, 2024.
"The project is scheduled to be inaugurated at the end of December 2024 by prioritizing the quality and application of strict K3 standards to protect workers and also road users who pass during project work," said Adjib as quoted from Hutama Karya's official website, Friday, November 22.
Adjib explained that Hutama Karya's work scope that had been completed included routine maintenance of roads along 84.05 kilometers (km), rehabilitation of road minors along 29.93 km, rehabilitation of road majors along 7.41 km, widening of roads along 21.54 km, repair of road geometry along 3.51 km, maintenance of 26.90 meters (m) long bridges to routine maintenance of bridges along 134.4 m.
During the work, traffic density is the main challenge in this project. This is due to the project location which is the main route for Bandung Regency to Cianjur which causes jobs at certain points to be carried out to open road closures regularly.
In addition, extreme weather at the site of project implementation often causes trees to fall, floods and landslides that cause jobs to become hampered.
However, to deal with these obstacles, Hutama Karya optimizes the project team on standby at disaster-prone points.
"Facing extreme weather conditions, periodic additions of heavy equipment vehicles are carried out to speed up work and implement soft-earth infrastructure construction solutions with Mortar Foam which is usually used to minimize the problem of reducing soil piles and fissitating time when dealing with landslides and roads damaged by flooding at project sites," he said.
