Erick Thohir Talks About The Development Of BUMN Karya, Becomes A Merger?

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir revealed the development of BUMN Karya consolidation. Erick is indeed committed to continuing the transformation of SOEs in the second term of leadership at the Ministry of SOEs.

Erick said that BUMN Karya is still in accordance with the initial plan. BUMN Karya, which currently has seven companies, will be merged into three companies.

The merger of SOEs started from the merger of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk into the holding of PT Hutama Karya (Persero). Then, PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) was consolidated with PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA). Then, PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk will also be merged with PT Nindya Karya (Persero) and PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero).

Regarding the consolidation of BUMN Karya, Erick admitted that he had discussed with the Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo regarding the downsizing of the number of BUMN works. Now, his party is in the stage of waiting for a letter from the ministry.

"Sudah ketemu Menteri PU, kita lagi menunggu surat-surat dari dia," ujar Erick di kantor Kementerian BUMN, Jakarta, dikutip Kamis, 21 November.

On November 5, Erick admitted that he would meet with the Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo. He also hopes that the merger of BUMN works can be realized as soon as possible.

"Yes, if it is signed next week, it will be finished," he said.

Erick also said that with the consolidation, BUMN works would be classified according to their respective skills. Thus, BUMN works can no longer work on various projects.

"So that we can carry out restructuring, restructuring, but also building expertise in each BUMN," he said.

After meeting with PU Minister Dody Hanggodo, Erick ensured that the consolidation or merger of BUMN Karya would not interfere with the implementation of assignments from the state to state-owned companies in the construction sector.

"Earlier, we talked about explaining that the seven SOEs will later be covered by three parents, so we will only restructure this part, it will not interfere with assignments and acceleration," said Erick at the Ministry of SOEs Office, Jakarta, Friday, November 15.
