JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI recorded an increase in freight rail transportation in the form of containers from January to October 2024.
During this period, KAI managed to transport 4,849,223 tons of containers, an increase of 27.65 percent compared to the previous year.
As for the same period from January to October 2023, the total number of transportations reached 3,798,764 tons.
KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba said the achievement of container transportation by train shows a positive trend.
"As of October 2024, KAI has managed to transport 4,849,223 tons, it has exceeded the total transportation in the same commodity for a full year in 2023 which was recorded at 4,661,449 tons," he said in an official statement, Monday, November 18.
