Wamenperin: Small And Medium Industries Become A Rescuer During The COVID-19 Pandemic

Deputy Minister of Industry (Wamenperin) Faisol Riza said that small and medium industries (IKM) are one of the pillars of human life during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Of course everyone still remembers when Covid yesterday, for approximately 2.5 years there was a time when we could not leave the house. Who saved us? The one who saved us was a small and medium industry," said Faisol in his remarks at the 2024 Gebyar IKMA Award Award Award Award Award Award Award Award Award at Kota Kasablanka Mall, Jakarta, Thursday, November 14.

Faisol said that almost all products needed by humans were the result of IKM. "During the Covid period, almost all of these products were filled by small and medium industries. We had to order food. We couldn't order from large restaurants. Why? Because large restaurants are closed. Want to buy the same needs," he said.

According to him, almost all IKM products are the main source of human needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Finally what? Almost all IKMA products have become products that we have consumed for 2.5 years," said Faisol.

He also hopes that in the future IKM can dominate the market in the country. Given, currently the industry has a very big opportunity.

"It's amazing. When all big economic businesses fell, it was an opportunity for small and medium industries to dominate the market. My dream was when President Prabowo appointed me in my heart to realize that if I am useful as Deputy Minister, hopefully it will be useful for IKMA," he added.
