JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said the government's steps and strategies to make Indonesia the leader of the world's sharia economy continue to roll and move positively. Ma'ruf said there are four strategic steps that have been taken to develop the country's halal products industry. The first is the construction of halal industrial areas and halal zones.
Second, the improvement of the trade record of Indonesian halal products, including the development of halal industry data codification. Then, the development of halal and export product certification system and process is easy, efficient, and effective.
"Fourth, the development of substitution of imported products and non-halal materials includes encouraging the involvement of research institutions that support the development of the halal product industry," he said.
The government, ma'ruf said, supports the cooperation of the National Committee on Sharia Economy and Finance (KNEKS) with PT Unilever Indonesia as well as the launch of the Unilever Muslim Centre of Excellence (M-COE) program that he has just inaugurated.
Ma'ruf believes this program will have a positive impact on the development of halal products, including for the fulfillment of global markets around the world.
"This program is in line with the government's strategic steps in the development of the halal product industry," he said.

"As well as strengthening halal lifestyle in increasing the use of halal products among the people of Indonesia," he said.
