Open KI 2024, Coordinating Minister AHY Calls Construction A Backbone Of Infrastructure Development

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) opened the 2024 Indonesian Construction (KI) event organized by the Ministry of Public Works (PU).

This event will be held from 6-8 November 2024 at ICE BSD, Tangerang Regency, Banten.

In his remarks, Coordinating Minister AHY said that the construction was the backbone of infrastructure development.

"Earlier we witnessed a number of views that really reminded us how important this Indonesian Construction is. Construction is the backbone of infrastructure development and infrastructure development is the key to economic development," AHY said at the opening of the 2024 Indonesian Construction event at ICE BSD, Tangerang Regency, Banten, monitored online on Wednesday, November 6.

"Indonesia's economic growth is expected to bring our people more prosperous in the future," he continued.

AHY also welcomed the 2024 Indonesian Construction event.

Although this is the first time he has been involved in the agenda, AHY admits that he will not hesitate to learn from the comedians in the infrastructure sector so far.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it is now November 6. President Prabowo Subianto was sworn in on October 20 and the minister or the Red and White Cabinet was sworn in on October 21. This means that it has only been more or less 15 days since we worked. I myself have always said I will not be ashamed, hesitate or hesitate to say I want to learn. I want to learn quickly from the figures, experts and comedians in the infrastructure sector so far," he said.

"Including ladies and gentlemen who have been overseeing construction, guarding infrastructure development throughout Indonesia," he added.

According to AHY, this future task will not be light. Moreover, the challenges in the field of infrastructure and regional development are also increasingly complex.

"I at the same time want to know more about ladies and gentlemen and all parties involved in infrastructure development. Because once again now is a joint work that we must oversee in the future," said AHY.

He added that the big theme of the 2024 Indonesian Construction is the agility and adaptability of the 'Competitive Construction Sector'.

According to AHY, the theme is important and relevant at this time.

Moreover, said AHY, the world is currently experiencing uncertainty.

Thus, nations around the world are required to have competitiveness, durability to resilience.

"This is important, we must be resilient in facing rapid advances in the field of technology, including construction technology. We must master this and we must not depend on other nations. We must have the ability to increase domestic production and use it optimally," he said.

AHY hopes that all parties can prevent unnecessary leaks.

Because, he said, this was always reminded by President Prabowo Subianto to all his ranks of ministers.

"We hope that in the future infrastructure development will also be more world-class, world class infrastructure, world class construction. Hopefully we will realize it with the presence of good governance and also good corporate governance for development that is more targeted and effective," he added.

The Indonesian Construction activity was held as a form of appreciation for the contribution of the community to construction services and became a medium for exchanging information between construction stakeholders.

Thus, supply and demand will be created as well as communication between stakeholders of construction services, both nationally and internationally as well as a promotional event to encourage investment, creativity, construction technology and national construction activities.
