JAKARTA - PT Royaltama Mulia Konthorindo Tbk (RMKO) managed to improve the operational performance of mining activities in the third quarter of 2024 with coal production of 320,000 tons. This number increased by 39.8 percent yoy.

"Armed with this significant growth, RMKO managed to reduce the impact of the decline in the first half of this year," said RMKO President Director, Vincent Saputra, Friday, October 25.

He detailed, until the period September 2024, RMKO had produced 673.600 tons of coal, or it was still experiencing a decline due to unfavorable weather in the first half of this year.

On the other hand, OB removal increased by 20.8 percent yoy to 710.000 Bcm in the third quarter of 2024.

As of September 2024, RMKO's OB removal has reached 2.1 million Bcm, an increase of 4.3 percent yoy.

From the heavy equipment rental segment, RMKO also managed to increase the volume of cargo with the Train Loading System (TLS) which increased significantly by 23.6 percent yoy in the third quarter of 2024 to 321,000 tons of coal.

Vincent continued, RMKO also succeeded in optimizing the operational costs of fuel by utilizing electrical energy in the TLS loading process so that the fuel ratio in the third quarter of 2024 fell by 42.2 percent yoy.

"The reduction in the fuel ratio supports RMKO to reduce fuel costs during the TLS loading process," he added.

In the third quarter of 2024, RMKO also obtained a new contract for cooperation with PT Atlas Resources Tbk (ARII) through its subsidiary PT Gorby Putra Utama (GPU) to operate the Coal Crushing Plant (CCP) 1 & 2. This contract also includes operations, stockpile management, dump trucks loading to maintenance for 5 years since the handover by RMKO to the GPU with a potential production capacity of 4.8 million coal per year.

From the construction segment, currently RMKO is also working on the hauling road to the PTBA mine and several other mines with a length of 39 km.

As of September 2024, the project has been completed 32.85 km or reached 84 percent of the completion stage. This project is targeted to be completed by 2024 and is expected to start operating by 2025.

"After the hauling road construction project is completed, RMKO will operate and carry out maintenance at the facility," said Vincent.
