Minister Of Agriculture Amran Prepares Special Scheme To Support Prabowo's Free Nutrition Eating Program

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) has prepared a special program to support the success of free nutritious food (MBG) promoted by President Prabowo Subianto, in order to improve access to healthy food and the welfare of people in need throughout Indonesia.

"The Ministry of Agriculture has prepared two schemes, namely through a nutritious food yard program as well as programs to increase milk and meat production. Eating free nutrition is very good the program and the Ministry of Agriculture must take a role," said Minister of Agriculture Amran in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Friday, October 25.

The Minister of Agriculture explained that free nutritious food can be supported starting from the household level through a nutritious food yard program. This means that each house can supply nutritional needs, such as carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, and others from self-produced plants.

"Our program going forward is to distribute seeds and superior seeds. So in the yard we can plant vegetables, tubers, chicken farming, ducks, catfish in the yard," explained Amran.

Amran explained that there are 70 million households in Indonesia. Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the average monthly household expenditure is IDR 2 million or the total household expenditure throughout Indonesia is IDR 1,400 trillion per year.

According to Amran, nutritious food yards can potentially reduce household spending.

Amran is optimistic that the nutritious food grounds can also encourage economic movement in rural areas. He gave an example that food produced in the yard can be supplied to schools to restaurants.

Don't just look at the nutritious food. Look what is moving around. Fresh vegetables, chickens, eggs can supply raw materials around them, so that the economy moves in the village," he explained.

The Minister of Agriculture also reminded that meeting protein needs does not only depend on milk.

"This knife cannot distinguish between milk, chicken, and eggs, which he knows protein enters, right," he said.

Even so, the Ministry of Agriculture is also trying to run a program to increase milk and beef production by attracting investors and regulating regulations for the import of dairy cows.

"For cow's milk, we invite investors from Vietnam, he dares to produce 1.8 million milk, we import 3.7 million, that means half. We want to guard it," said the Minister of Agriculture.
