Prabowo Holds First Cabinet Meeting, Erick Thohir: Discuss Government Policy Direction

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto and Deputy President Gibran Rakabuming Raka held a inaugural plenary cabinet meeting with ministers who are members of the Red and White Cabinet.

The plenary cabinet meeting was held Wednesday, October 23 at the State Palace, Jakarta. The moment of this cabinet meeting was uploaded by SOE Minister Erick Thohir through his personal Instagram social media account @erickthohir.

"To attend the inaugural Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Office, State Palace," Erick wrote as quoted on Thursday, October 24.

Erick revealed that the plenary kabit meeting discussed the policy direction of the Prabowo-Gibran government.

"Mr. President Prabowo conveyed policy directions and priority for the government, such as food self-sufficiency, energy self-sufficiency, downstreaming, nutritious eating, education, and health," Erick wrote again.

Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir admitted that he was ready to carry out the mandate given by President Prabowo Subianto. Erick again won the trust to visit the Ministry of SOEs for the period 2024-2029.

As an assistant to the president, Erick ensured that SOEs were ready to support President Prabowo Subianto's vision. Therefore, he asked SOEs to work even harder than before.

"The important thing is that when inaugurated there is a mandate that is entrusted to be loyal to the president and also ensure that the program can run well for his people according to his vision. This means that we at the Ministry of SOEs must work even harder for professionalism and transparency," Erick said when he arrived at the Ministry of SOEs office, Jakarta, Monday, October 21.

Erick also ensures that he will maintain Prabowo's vision by continuing to improve collaboration with the private sector as well as MSMEs. Including continuing the BUMN downsizing program to the remaining 30 SOEs to increase the effectiveness and competitiveness of SOEs in the future.

"With this open market, the balance occurs, between the private sector, MSMEs and also investment from within and outside the country. This is what we are trying to balance," said Erick.
